Airborne Geoscientific Research

Bridging field data collection and satellite remote sensing.

DroneLab@UiO develops and deploys uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) workflows for precise physical environment monitoring. We aim to support scientific research and higher education within geomorphology, glaciology, permafrost dynamics, geodesy, natural habitat monitoring, and many more.

Bringing expertise in UAV operations, we help the community to aquire data safely, and with a high quality standard.

📡 Airborne LiDAR

Penetrating vegetation canopy to extract true bare-earth DTMs in complex terrain.

🌱 Multispectral

Calibrated radiometry tracking vegetation health, but also snow polutants and other spectral signals.

🌡️ Radiometric Thermal

Thermal mapping accross fields, from surface temperature mapping of permafrost features to wildlife inventory.

📐 Photogrammetry

Orthophotos, elevation models, high-density point clouds, full 3D models, and change assessment.
